Balázs Réti
Born in 1974 in Budapest. Piano teacher at the Florence Liszt Music Academy in Budapest since 1999. In 2007 he began to teach piano on Bartók Béla Institute of Music, on which since 2008 he’s also a chief of „piano cathedra”.
His own musical education started in Beli Bartoka’s Music Highschool with prof. Gabor Eckhardt, and was continued on Ference Liszt Music Academy under prof. György Nador. In 2007 he received the title of „Doctor Liberalium Artium”. Between 1993 and 1998 he took part in master courses of such pianists as: Lev Naumov, Claude Franck, András Schiff, Dmitrij Bashkirov.
Many times he performed abroad mainly in France, Czech Republic, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, Ukraine, Poland, Finland, Estonia, Russia, Romania, USA, Mexico, Peru, Chile, Indonesia. He has performed, among others with the RTE Orchestra in Dublin, the Orquesta Filarmonica de Jalisco in Mexico, the Nusantara Symphony Orchestra in Jakarta, Universidad Andrés Bello Camerata in Santiago de Chile and of the native: Bartók Consevatory Orchestra and the Danubia Symphony Orchestra.
He is laureate of: First Prize on „European Prize” Youth Music Competition in Dublin (Ireland, 1996); Third Prize and special award for best performance of compulsory contemporary work on Scheveningen International Piano Competition (Netherlands, 1997); Medal of Bordeaux International Festival of Young Soloists (France, 1998) and Third Prize on Johannes Brahms International Piano Competition (Austria, 1998).
